Zelinda is a peasant girl, living in the midst of wartime balancing on one leg. As soon as the war ends and seems only a distant memory, the little girl wears a colourful dress, and it seems that her childhood years are slowly returning.
Where do all our stories, our memories go? Invelle, nowhere important, to a non-place in history, a transitional space for memories in danger of extinction, if they are no longer told, if there is no longer someone who can tell them. Grandparents’ memories are these kinds of narratives, digressions from their own personal perspective that inevitably meet and clash with official history. Digressions that barely survive, that the listener assimilates at the bottom of a black hole of forgetfulness. But it is only from this bottom of blackness that memory, imagination, and animation are generated.

He was born in Pergola (Pesaro-Urbino) in May 1970. He studied Animation Cinema at the Urbino School of Art. An independent animator, for 20 years he has made dozens of short films, made entirely by hand, selected in festivals around the world. In 2018 he made the animation for Paolo Savona’s documentary, La strada dei Samouni, and in 2023 he finished his first directorial animated feature, Invelle.
