Milagros (37) protracts a carefree youth into her last years of fertility, while Jonathan (24) seeks relief from his own abandonment syndrome on Grindr. Milagros is looking for sperm. Jonathan for escape routes. A delirious road movie, shot entirely in 16mm, full of music, in which a mysterious mermaid with a magic crown points the way. Confronting their own maternal instincts, the directors make a film (“instead of making children,” as they say) that reflects on the concept of freedom and the structural impossibilities faced by their generation. That of On the Go is a world at once surreal, crazy and irrational populated by campy characters who seem to have come straight from the mind of Pedro Almodóvar of Pepi, Luci, Bom y otras chicas del montón.
